Scope of
Pediatric Critical Care Technician
(DPCCT)
Abu Zafar Institute of Medical Sciences is open to all applicants without any discrimination of sex, religion, race, creed, color or domicile who are academically qualified for admission to the courses of study offered.
Admission to the Diploma of Pediatric Critical Care Technician is based on academic merit and performance in Entry Test conducted by the college. Short listed candidates will be evaluated further on interviews. Admission will be offered as per quota mentioned below.
A high academic score in any single discipline or any outstanding achievement alone is not sufficient for selection.
Eligibility:
- Matric with Science (Biology group) with minimum 45% marks
- Intermediate (Pre-Medical) with 45% Marks
- Age Limit: 16 - 30 Years (age relaxation may be allowed up to 05 years in special cases)
- Gender: Both male and female candidates can apply for admission
- Nationality: Pakistani Citizen having valid CNIC / B-Form
- Quota: Sindh Domicile 75% Other than Sindh 25% (Left over seats under any quota will be adjusted vice versa)
- Marital Status: Unmarried / Married
Fee structure:
- Admission Fee (one time) - Rs. 10,000/-
- Tuition Fee (Monthly) - Rs. 5,000/-
- Security Deposit (one time) - Rs. 5,000/-
Note: Security Deposit Conditionally Refundable after completion of course. Any other fee like issuance of diploma / Marks sheet if required by the SBTE shall be the responsibility of the student to pay
Application Requirements:
1. It is extremely important to have a valid email address before filling in / obtaining form for admission.
2. Application form can be obtained from Abu Zafar Institute of Medical Sciences on payment of a mandatory non-refundable processing fee.
3. Application for admission must be submitted on the prescribed application form along with photocopies of supporting documents duly attested by a Gazette Officer in person at the institution. UN-ATTESTED DOCUMENTS SHALL NOT BE ENTERTAINED.
Documents required to be attached with application form
1. 04 recent passport size photographs of applicant without attestation.
2. 04 attested photocopies of Matric / Inter Marks Sheet and Certificates
3. 04 attested Computerized National Identity Card / B-Form (issued by NADRA)
4. 04 attested Computerized National Identity Card / B-Form (issued by NADRA)
5. 04 attested copies of Domicile.
6. 04 attested copies of PRC on form “C”.
Applicant can be asked to submit any other document in original or photocopy at any time as required by the college authorities. In-complete forms shall be rejected. Forms will not be accepted after the closing date or time.
The applications for admissions to Nursing Programs shall be invited through an advertisement in the press mentioning the last date of receiving such applications and other deadlines.
Entry Test
b. All eligible candidates desiring to get admission at Abu Zafar Institute of Medical Sciences, shall be required to appear in the entry test on the date and time announced at the time of admission.
c. Weightage of Marks for Entry Test
Entry Test 60% weightage
Pass percentage of test 45%
d. Duration of Course:
02 Years including 6 months internship
e. Medical Fitness
Selected candidates shall have to submit a medical fitness certificate on the prescribed form provided by the institute from an PMDC registered Medical Practitioner.
f. Attendance Policy
Students are expected to maintain at least 75% attendance, However, in case of emergency/sickness may allow 25% (cumulative) shortage of attendance.
g. All admissions are provisional till the verification of documents and the correct observance of the rules. If at any stage it is proved that the candidate has been admitted on the basis of false/incorrect documents or information or against the rules of admission, his/her admission shall be cancelled immediately after giving him/her an opportunity to show cause (within seven days) as to why his/her admission should not be cancelled and all fees paid by him/her shall be forfeited and Abu Zafar Institute of Medical Sciences has the right to take legal action against him/her according to law.
h. The rules and regulations for holding examinations shall be in accordance with the rules and regulations framed by the Board of Sindh Technical Education, Karachi as amended from time to time and as approved.
i. The selected candidates shall get themselves enrolled with the institution and the Board by paying the fees in full, when admission is offered.
Teaching and Examination Policy:
- 1. The training strategy as regards to theory and clinical work may be as under:

1st Year
a. Initial three months 100% Theory
b. Then next three months 75% theory and 25% clinical rotation
c. Then next six months 50% theory and 50% Clinical Rotation -
2nd Year
a. First six months 50% theory and 50% Clinical Rotation.
b. Then next six months 25% Theory and 75% Clinical.

Institutional fee
Admission Fee : Rs.10,000/- One time at the time of admission (Non-refundable)
Security Deposit : Rs.05,000/- One time at the time of admission. (Conditionally Refundable after completion of course)
Tuition fee : Rs.05,000/- Monthly (Non-refundable) -
SBTE fee:
Enrollment Fee : Shall be paid by the students once during whole course to SBTE.
Examination Fee : Shall be paid by the students Annually for Annual / Supplementary Examination as per case.
